It began with the first Arab-Israeli war in 1948. The popular misconception is that the Arab states invaded to help the Palestinians. Actually, they intended to carve up Palestine for themselves, NOT to create a Palestinian state.

JIJ From 1949 until 1967, Egypt could have given Gaza to the Palestinians for a state, just as the Jordanians could have created a Palestinian state in the West Bank. Neither did, but no one in the world cared because the Palestinians were not interested in a state and the occupiers were Arabs.

Mahdi, who attends Stepney Green School, was unveiled as the winner of the young mayoral election at a Town Hall ceremony on January 31. The 16-year-old, who is due to be inaugurated later in February and should serve a two year term, later took to Twitter to apologise for the threats.

“Last week I posted in frustration about my feelings on certain matters. “I realise that this was an inappropriate way to comment about my feelings and apologise if I offended anyone. “I am new to this role and now fully understand my responsibilities…”

The tirade follows Mayor of Tower Hamlets Lutfur Rahman proclaiming the success of the elections in engaging young people with local politics. A council spokeswoman said officers were to review the situation before deciding on what action to take. “The role is a high profile one and all candidates are reminded that high standards of personal conduct are required of them during their election campaign and when they are in office,” she added.

Politico Naomi Wolf, the author and activist, is in early-stage talks with the global news network Al Jazeera, POLITICO has learned. Wolf, who currently writes a column for The Guardian, confirmed the news late Thursday night but stressed that the talks were in the earliest stages and that no job offer was on the table. ”It’s extremely informal and very, very preliminary,” she told POLITICO.

vaginacoverWolf is in a non-exclusive employment with the Guardian and has written columns for Al Jazeera and other news outlets in the past. A spokesman with Al Jazeera did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the talks. Al Jazeera, a Qatari-owned news network, bought Current TV from Al Gore earlier this year in an effort to expand its reach in the American market. Al Jazeera plans to announce the launch of an American-based network, called Al Jazeera America, later this year and has set about on a hiring spree to bulk up American-based staff. Wolf would be its first high-profile hire.

We need the Second Amendment to protect us from Leftist professors like this who want to kill free speech | BARE NAKED ISLAM

The title of of this leftist professor’s article is “How much free speech do we need?” So anti-American a concept, he had to go to Al-Jazeera to publish it. Of course, it’s hardly a surprise that a media outlet favored by Al-Qaeda and Al-Gore would concur with the idea that the First Amendment must be revised to restrict speech that is offensive to the most offensive people on earth – Muslims.

Putin‘s fears that “the U.S. is endangering the global economy by abusing its dollar monopoly,” are clearly being taken seriously as the world’s largest oil producer turns black gold into hard assets. A lawmaker in Putin’s party noted, “the more gold a country has, the more sovereignty it will have if there’s a cataclysm with the dollar, the euro, the pound or any other reserve currency.”

Putin’s gold strategy fits in with his resource nationalism, statist agenda, as Bloomberg notes when Russia defaulted in 1998 it took 28 barrels of oil to buy one ounce of gold, was 11.5 barrels when Putin came to power and when in 2005 it had fallen to 6.5 barrels (less than half what it is now), he went all in, telling the central bank to buy.
