Where does U.S. Senator John Kerry D-MA, President Barack Obama’s pick for Secretary of State, stand on foreign policy matters pertaining to Israel and the Middle East? Below are the highlights of 10 letters signed by large majorities of the U.S. Senate, noting Kerry’s spotty record on Israel.

The slogan, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” can be heard regularly from the shores of the Gaza Strip, emanating from members of terrorist groups, including Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The river represents the Jordan River, and the sea is the Mediterranean – both sides of Israel. Essentially, this means the destruction of Israel.
Khaled Meshaal, the global head of Hamas, stated something similar, when he made his historic visit to Gaza this month. He said, “Palestine is ours from the river to the sea and from the south to the north.” Just one week previous to that, the leader of another Islamist group, Cyrus McGoldrick, repeated the slogan on Facebook and Twitter. Except he did not state it from the Middle East, he made it from the United States.

On December 18, Press TV, Iran’s official government propaganda outlet featured a miscreant who attempted to tie the Sandy Hook massacre to “Jewish owned Hollywood” and “Israeli hit squads.” This type of “journalism” is quite the norm for Press TV. It routinely features outrageous programming that aims to denigrate “enemies of the state,” with special emphasis on Jews and Israel.
It therefore comes as no surprise that Press TV was downright giddy when reporting about the prospect of Chuck Hagel becoming one of the most powerful men in the White House. The article featured Hagel’s lengthy anti-Israel record and this presumably sits well with Iran’s fascist Mullah theocrats.

Italian police on Saturday seized a shipment of weapons intended for Egypt with a final destination of Gaza, the Italian news agency ANSA reported.
The report said that the weapons were hidden in a cargo shipment and were found in the port of Naples. Local police confirmed the report.
The weapons, which included a rocket launcher among other things, were part of a shipment that was supposed to go on an Egyptian ship which has been detained by local authorities, reported ANSA. The container in which the weapons were found was part of a shipment of five containers, and the four remaining containers are currently being examined by the Italian customs authorities.
Nowhere is the contrast between Barack Obama, as defined by his rhetoric (the “Obama 1″ referred to in the first part of this series) and Barack Obama as defined by his actions (“Obama 2″) greater than in his foreign policy — and especially his policy toward Israel.
What if we put aside Barack Obama’s rhetoric, and instead look exclusively at his documented record over a period of decades, up to and including the present?
The first thing that is most striking about that record is the long string of his mentors and allies who were marked by hatred of the United States, and a vision of the world in which the white, Western nations have become prosperous by oppressing and exploiting the nonwhite, non-Western nations.
