Back in November of 2011, the Obama administration had a large cross removed from a chapel at a military base in Afghanistan. Even though there were no complaints from any Muslims. The only explanation was that the cross was a violation of the Army manuel. The U.S. service personnel were highly offended. They took great comfort when they would pass by and see it daily.
