Illegal Alien Convict Freed For Not Getting Speedy Trial

An illegal immigrant drug dealer who fled to his native Mexico after orchestrating the murder of an Iowa teenager is free because his conviction was overturned by an appellate court that ruled he was denied a speedy trial while he was a fugitive from U.S. justice.

The astounding case dates back more than a decade, when the illegal alien (Juan Humberto Castillo-Alvarez) drug lord ordered the execution-style murder of a 15-year-old northwest Iowa boy over a drug debt. The teen, rumored to be a police informant, was kidnapped and severely beaten before getting shot.

NYC’s top cop Ray Kelly on decision to have terror trials in NY: We were not consulted

New York City’s Police Commissioner Ray Kelly addressed the New York Young Republican Club on Thursday. Two hundred and fifty members of the organization were in attendance and mainly peppered the commissioner with questions regarding the upcoming 9/11 terror trials that are to be staged in lower Manhattan.

When asked how the decision for the trials to be hosted in New York came about, Commisioner Kelly’s response produced gasps among audience members (h/t Loud Citizen).:

“We were not consulted,” Kelly said tersely of the decision. He stated that the trial “will raise the threat level of this city,” a threat that “will not fade any time soon.” And it affects more than lower Manhattan, we learned. “We will have to look at the entire city as a potential target.”

New York pols including: Senator Chuck Schumer (D – NY), New York’s Mayor Mike Bloomberg (I -R), Rep. Jerry Nadler (D – NY)and Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D – NY) support the Obama administration‘s action to have the trials held in New York City.

Hillary Clinton Welcomes Banned Islamic Radicals

In an effort to pursue a better relationship with Muslim communities, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has signed special orders to allow the reentry of two radical Islamic academics whose terrorist ties have for years banned them from the United States.

Clinton chose to exercise her exemption authority as the nation’s chief foreign affairs adviser in a quest to fulfill President Obama’s mission of creating a new and improved relationship—based on mutual interest and mutual respect—with Muslims around the world. At least that’s the official word from the State Department.

The special order, signed by Clinton this week, assures the two extremist Muslim scholars (Tariq Ramadan and Adam Habib), known to support and endorse Islamic terrorism, entry into the U.S. for the first time in years. The State Department has repeatedly denied their visa claiming they present a national security threat.

Justice refuses to release documents in Panther case

The Justice Department, citing privilege claims, has refused to release e-mails and other documents sought under an open records request by The Washington Times to explain its decision last year to dismiss a civil complaint accusing the New Black Panther Party of intimidating voters at a Philadelphia polling place.

In a letter, the department said that while 69 documents totaling 135 pages were responsive to the Freedom of Information Act request for information on how and why the decision to dismiss the complaint was made, they were being withheld because of “deliberative process” and “attorney work-product” privilege exemptions.
